Heather Allen, BA
Administrative Assistant
Heather's journey in advocating for individuals with disabilities began with the birth of her sister in 1999, who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome and Autism. Witnessing the lack of resources and support available to families in similar circumstances, Heather's parents took proactive steps to establish the Columbus area Down Syndrome support group through the Arc of Bartholomew County. Their efforts culminated in the inaugural "Buddy Walk" in Columbus, aimed at raising both funds and awareness for the National Down Syndrome Society. These initiatives, which continue to thrive today, planted the seeds of Heather's lifelong commitment to serving those with disabilities and other support needs.
Driven by her personal experiences and a profound sense of empathy, Heather pursued a degree in psychology. Complementing her academic pursuits, Heather embarked on a career in public service, where she was an advocate for inclusivity, accessibility, and support while serving families in the community. She is excited to bring her knowledge and experience to Inclusive Options and she looks forward to helping meet the mental health needs of the community.
Heather joins our team as an Administrative Assistant. She is able to connect well with clients and works to support them through the initial and on going steps of being a client at Inclusive Options, LLC. We are excited to welcome her to our team!
